Titan
Laser Skin Tightening Questions FAQs
Who
can be treated? Clients
of any skin type can be treated. The effect is in the deep dermis, so skin type
is not an issue. Men and women of all ages who have an area of lax skin have been
treated successfully.
Is
Titan different than other skin tightening systems? Titan is a newer
technology that employs light energy. Other systems use radiofrequency. Light
energy provides a more uniform distribution of energy for heating the deep dermis.
This minimizes the discomfort and does not result in loss of fat in the skin.
How
many treatments will I need? Occasionally a single treatment will
achieve desired results. Most doctors advise clients that two to three treatments
with the Titan Laser is most common. Treatments
should be spaced one month apart.
What
do the Treatments feel like? Any side effects? With each Titan pulse,
you will feel a brief heating sensation that peaks in intensity with mild discomfort.
Usually each area is treated once, then a second pass is performed. Immediately
after the treatment you may notice some redness and swelling that usually dissipates
in minutes, occasionally takes a few hours. When
do I see results? Some
patients see results immediately. Most patients see a gradual tightening over
three to six months as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
How
does the Titan work? Titan
utilizes infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin's surface. This
heating can cause immediate collagen contraction. During the procedure, the skin's
surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan handpiece.
After the procedure, new collagen growth results in further tightening and the
development of a more youthful complexion with less lines, folds or looseness
of the skin. What
areas respond best to the Titan? Patients
have been successfully treated on all areas of the body, with loose skin on the
abdomen, back of the upper arm, along the jaw line and under the chin responding
particularly well to the procedure.
