Options for Thinning Lips
In our youth our
lips are plump and full. As we age, they lose their fullness.
The lips are one of our most prominent facial features and
many people define beauty by their lips. In fact, many celebrities
are renowned for their full, plump lips. With the advent
of new filler substances and quick procedures with minimal
downtime, lip enhancements have gained in popularity.
Lip
Enhancement or Lip Augmentation adds fullness to the shape
and size to the lips, by injecting biocompatible materials
into the lips. In some cases, tissue is surgically moved
from the inner lip to add fullness to the outer lip.
Lip augmentation is a procedure that involves injecting
a cosmetic filler into the lips in order to enhance its
size and shape. Some of the more common fillers used include
Fat, Collagen, and Restylane. Collagen injections are
temporary and will last a few months. The results of fat
injections can be permanent, but sometimes the procedure
needs to be repeated until the desired result is achieved.
Restylane is a newer form of injectable filler, that lasts
longer than fat and Collagen.

lip injection is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that
can add significant volume to the lips, creating a "pout"
effect that can last for months. Collagen treatments can
bring back a youthful appearance to your lips - and create

lips. Treatments generally last from 3 to 12 months and
repeat treatments are recommended every 4 to 6 months
after the initial Collagen injection.
Collagen treatments are generally safe. However, about

Restylane
Lip Injections
RESTYLANE
is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based
on a natural substance, called hyaluronic acid. The gel
is injected into the skin in tiny amounts with a very
fine needle. Since Restylane is not made from animal products,
it does not require any allergy tests prior to injection.
Restylane
treatments are excellent to restore the 'cupid's bow'
area of the lip, and to make the edge of the lip crisp,
as it is in children. The edge of the lip becomes even,
and sharp, keeping lipstick in place and providing a natural,
youthful lip appearance. People who suffer from droopy
corners of the lip can also obtain relief with Restylane.
