Liver Spots have many names: Sun Spots, Age Spots, Brown Spots, or Maturity spots. Whatever you call them, Liver Spots are unsightly & people feel these spots "advertise" their age. Liver Spots are flat spots found on sun-exposed skin particularly the hands, face, neck, shoulders, arms and forehead. The color of these spots range from light brown to black and can appear on nearly all skin types. These skin blotches are concentrations of melanin triggered by unprotected exposure to the sun over a long period of time. These skin discolorations are associated with ageing and exposure to ultra-violet radiation from the sun. Liver Spots are in no way related to the liver.

Treatment Options for Liver & Age Spots

Doctors & Dermatologists have many options for treating liver spots. Common methods that have been used for years include freezing, Chemical Peels, & Dermabrasion. Chemical Peels that are very effiective in treating age spots include “TCA” chemical peels, Glycolic Acid Peels, & Jessner Peels.
