Laser
Age Spot RemovalNumerous
types of lasers are in use for removing skin lesions. The Ruby Laser & Q-Switched
Laser are among the more selective and effective for treating age spots.
Lasers produce a single wavelength of light, which delivers a
high level of energy to destroy unwanted lesions in or under the skin. The trick
is to destroy the unwanted area (brown spots, spider veins, hair follicles, tattoo
colors) without causing damage to the skin itself. This is accomplished by taking
advantage of the color differences between normal skin and the part we want to
destroy. The wavelength of laser used depends on the color of the lesion. The
laser then targets that color (brown for spots, purple for veins, etc) and passes
through the lighter skin without damaging it. Therefore, best results are obtained
in light colored people, where the contrast between the lesion and the skin is
the greatest. IPL
FotoFacials IPL
Fotofacials will gently deliver a precise amount of light energy through your
skin. Treatments are spaced out at three-week intervals. The energy is delivered
at specific settings for each treatment to maximize your results. The
light energy stimulates the production of collagen. As the new collagen forms,
it softens the appearance of aging skin. Fine lines and wrinkles are decreased.
Brown "age spots" diminish or disappear, and the redness associated
with Rosacea can be dramatically reduced.
Chemical
Peels for Age Spots Whether
your skin has become wrinkled or damaged by the sun, been scarred by acne, or
just shows age spots, blemishes and other normal signs of aging, a Chemical Peel
is a safe, effective way to reveal the younger, fresher skin that lies beneath.
Chemical
peels use a liquid solution that removes the top layers of your skin, revealing
new and smoother skin. Chemical peels can be performed on your entire face, specific
areas of your face and also on the neck, chest, hands, legs or arms. Healing time
varies, depending on the type of peel that is performed. Chemical
peels use solutions to peel away the top layers of your skin, revealing new, fresher
and smoother skin. Three types of peels are offered, ranging from light "lunch
hour" peels designed to provide subtle results with less recovery time to
deep peels that provide dramatic results but that take longer to heal.
